Children can focus and communicate when the brain in regulated. How do children regulate their thoughts, mind, and ambition? Children learn by exploring and ask millions of questions. Neurodevelopment Disorders express inattention or hyperactivity-impulsivity interfering with the ability to function or reach milestones as quickly. The easiest way is to understand children are unique and their own self navigating life with different methods of communication at a busier pace. Those busier paces are okay.
Learning to navigate learning and accepting obstacles to teach our children how to understand how to use their energy in a positive manner is their superpower. Provide children with encouragement to know they are able to use their superpowers in positive ways instead of using the expression of negative behavior. Reminders. Reminders are our special parenting tools to navigate our busy learners. Children who are busy cause the brain to forget how to complete a task or understand the instructions to directions given. The brain becomes confused and unregulated. Rerouting mistakes into learning moments provides a sense of positive direction rather than negative feedback. Instead of redirecting our children for their abundance of energy, choose exercise or exploring outdoors.
Often, busy children may express low academic success because their super power is going so fast. Please remember to watch for their creativity and talents. Being patient with our creative learners and supporting their academic ability along the way will boost their confidence. Keep children smiling. The struggle of regulating their energy and emotions are a busy challenge. I navigate this with positivity. You are smiling. I see how creative you are. Your drawing looks wonderful. Being positive will overcome the challenges. Words are powerful. Being patient can be difficult, but helpful.
Our families latest exercise is swimming. My children choose exercise or exploring in nature when they need to release energy to regulate their focus. 20 minutes of outdoor activity with movement can regulate the brain to focus on positive behavior. Playing in the sandbox can help reduce frustration and calm the emotions. Finding ways to allow children to use their energy as a superpower (talent) allows them to develop confidence in their ability to be successful.
